My Sunday at Makerfaire + A Couple Fun Items!
Every year for the past 10 years the San Francisco Bay Area has hosted Makerfaire from Make Magazine. As you can probably guess, makers from the surrounding area show off the things they have made and will hopefully bring to market. Here are a couple of things I thought you guys might find interesting.
I am calling this the “Keurig for alcohol”! In the side you have bottles for rum gin etc and then the little pods you put inside the machine are flavors for the alcoholic drinks. I asked the maker if he would allow anyone to make pods for his machine and I was greeted with a rather sour response about how he wouldn’t make any money. :/ Seems like a novel idea though.
Also spotted was a new company specializing in huge sparkle art from a company called Sparklemasters! I think they have a long way to go to make it more affordable but I think it would be pretty cool to have a portrait of myself all sparkly. They have a website here and a kickstarter here.
Roominate were also there helping kids learn engineering by letting them build their dream houses. You can find the Roominate stuff here on Amazon and I will let you know when it goes down in price. Roominate is actually pretty popular!
Did you attend Makerfaire too? Were you excited by any of the stuff you saw? Let me know in the comments. 🙂Details. This post may contain affiliate links which support this site. Read our disclosure policy.
